The all-new Mazda 2 proves that small cars no longer have to be poor quality and uncomfortable. This genuinely attractive compact shows you can get excellent value, great efficiency and a wonderfully zippy vehicle for a price you can’t beat.
Fuel economy should be mentioned first, as the 2011 Mazda 2 delivers 28 MPG in the city, and a stupendous 35 MPG on the highway, putting this fuel-sipper at the top of its class. The 1.5 liter 100HP engine is more than enough to propel this little car, and handling is precise and acceleration is plentiful. The 5-door hatchback configuration offers plenty of versatility and room, and the Mazda 2 is loaded with safety features, including ABS, stability control, traction control and electric power steering.
Handling and performance is impressive. The shifts are remarkably smooth, the engine is willing and the car is far more responsive than you might expect. The small size allows easy threading through traffic, and managing curves and turns are a cinch thanks to tight steering and a firm balance, and we find the Mazda 2 beats its primary competitor, the Honda Fit, in all handling and performance tests we have executed. Stable on broken tarmac, flatter through corners, and an overall tighter experience all make the Mazda 2 the better car performance-wise.
The all-new Mazda 2 proves “Fun” and “Frugal” can be available in one attractive package. It’s a sweet performer, sharp looker and an incredible value. Visit South Mazda today, and take one for a spin. It’s handsome looks and smooth performance will win your heart over.
On sale now at South Motors Mazda, the new 2011 Mazda 2 is one of the best new car values on the road. Visit South Motors Mazda in Miami today and take one for a spin.
VW unveiled a bigger and less expensive Jetta recently, which broadens its appeal to a larger, younger audience and ensures VW’s continued dominance in the American import arena. The Jetta has always been a wonderful car, and the most popular on the road. In fact, Jetta sales account for half of the VW annual units, and shows just how eager Americans are to experience the tight driving characteristics that European models offer.
The new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta will be priced much closer to smaller cars, and will likely show a $16,000 entry point, an excellent value considering, in the public’s eye, the Jetta competes with the more expensive Accord and Camry. The entry level Jetta will be “nicely equipped” at a price almost $2000 less than the existing model.
“Model by model, our lineup will be competitively priced so that we will be able to compete in the American market,” Stephen Jacoby, chief executive of VW US Division, said.
He pitches the Jetta as a “class-up driving experience with the kind of styling, design and power under the hood normally found in more expensive luxury cars.”
“We are part of the cultural heritage of this country. It doesn’t matter who you talk to, almost everyone has a Volkswagen story,” he said. “Part of our job now is to reawaken that attachment with all the new vehicles that are coming.”

BMW M Division has a history of creating some of the most amazing performance-luxury cars in existence, so it is exciting news to hear they have turned their efforts to building what could perhaps be the most affordable M Series, yet.
As far as the details, there are few and mysterious, and the answers given by M Division simply serve to inspire more questions. What we know is that the 1-Series M Coupe (now confirmed as the official name) will be a car “focused on the essentials, the fascination of driving and a love for detail”.
Car and Driver magazine was one of the fortunate few to get an early taste of what M is cooking. They were quoted as saying:
“Getting the small M into a slight drift seemed as effortless as recovery, and the kick provided by the uprated engine represents a major step above the 135i. Turbo lag is slight and doesn’t significantly detract from the experience. Compared to the M3, you sit lower to the ground, the cabin is more compact, and thus you get a much better sense of speed than in the bigger car.”
In addition to handling characteristics, the 1-Series M Coupe gets a host of other updates, too. The body and track have been widened, the front has a newly styled bumper, a spoiler lip has been added to the rear and quadruple exhausts round out the back. Sport seats, unique trim, and special instrumentation will adorn the cabin and driver’s area.
Truly exciting stuff. Stay tuned to our website for the latest news, as M has promised to deliver more details as we near the year’s end.

The 2011 Honda Accord Sedan and Coupe will be receiving significant upgrades including improved fuel economy, an enhanced exterior and interior styling, and the revealing of an all-new leather-equipped Special Edition trim level. Available as a sedan or coupe, with a 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder engine, the Accord is a unique balance of performance and efficiency and a great value to boot.
A new front grille and bumper shape expresses an upscale and aggressive stance, while an all-new wheel design adds elegance to an already attractive profile. Interior styling on all models provides attainable luxury and generous standard equipment, with well-placed gauges and instruments and an ergonomic layout. The fold-down rear seats make the Accord quite versatile for cargo transport, while the front seats exude a sporty nature and provide lumbar and lateral support in a handsome package.
Safety is, as typical for Honda, a class-topper, and includes Honda’ proprietary ACE body design which enhances occupant protection and crash safety in frontal crashes, reducing the forces transferred to the passenger compartment in the result of a collision.
The 2011 model year is looking great for the Accord Sedan and Accord Coupe, and will go on sale this August. For the most up-to-date information on the Accord and the whole Honda family, keep posted to this blog, or visit the South Honda website.

That’s right. Infiniti will be delivering a new hybrid system for the upscale 2011 Infiniti M Sedan later this year, which will double its fuel efficiency.
It will also be fully revamping its technology for the regular gas engine variants in order to send its green message. Planned to be in synch with the mother company Nissan’s rollout of the “Leaf” electric offering, green offerings are planned for all of the Infiniti models eventually. Details are few, but some of the innovations for these fuel-saving engines include cutting off the engine at stop lights and other temporary stops, and a unique way of injecting fuel into the engine to boost mileage.
