BMW further integrates Apple

""BMW has announced new, further-integrated support for the world’s most popular smart phone and iPod Touch."
"The new features, directly built into every BMW, will provide owners of these devices seamless familiar control within the BMW cabin. The vehicle’s main display will serve as the navigation screen for the device, and can be safely operated through the BMW’s interface controls. The Apple interface software and concept has been dubbed “iPod Out”.
On the Apple side of things, the iTunes feature tech “Genius” will make its debut in BMW cabins everywhere, thanks to Apple’s new mobile operating system. Genius creates on-the-fly playlists from the iPhone or iTouch library by selecting songs that go well together.
All in all, this new BMW technology will allow the vehicle to adapt more quickly to the software lifecycles of the iPod Touch and iPhone. As the first integrator of the iPod into a vehicle in 2004, BMW is the perfect manufacturer to pursue an even more seamless interaction between your car and your personal devices.
